Go and stare at these fake book covers. Then read the fic, because they are not called fandom classics lightly. (Rating may vary, but mostly teen, mature and explicit.)

On the welcome holoscreen, you read:

A continuously updated list of book and fanfiction recommendations, primarily fantasy or science fiction.

Most stories here are below T/PG-15, and are focussed on platonic or heterosexual relationships. Exceptions are labelled.

Fanfiction stories are categorised:

Drabble: less than or about 500 words (by definition 100 words)

Short: around 500-5000 words, or one half hour sitting. Vignettes, one-shots and the like are in this category.

Medium: around 5000-10 000 words, or an hour or two of reading. Usually around 2-4 chapters.
Long: around 10 000-50 000 words, or a good two to three hours. 5-10 chapters.

Novella or occasionally full out novel: More than 50 000 words. Divided over at least two days, unless there's a good afternoon and evening free. Over 10 chapters.
